Doctors and shots,needles

I was just in my Doctors office ,sitting in the room, waiting to get my flu shot when I started thinking about the first time,I got a shot from a doctor, for an illness I had when I was young boy. I had a doctor, that always gave us(me and my older sisters) a shot for any illness we had. My dad claimed that he carry around a syringe, all the time. Before we get to the doctor office we would feel better, afraid of getting shot, stick that needle in us.Later I had experience with a dentist going in for route canel. The doctor gave me a shot of novacain and mixed the spot and numbed one side of my face. He said he was sorry for doing that,so was I.  I never saw that dentist again. Then I was going to get married. You have to get blood test.Since,Nevada and Mexico you do not need a blood test to get married I suggested  to elope and get married in Las Vegas,Nevada that did not work. When I turned 51 years old. I found out I had high blood pressure.Every 3 months you have to get checked out and take blood out of you.The nurses who gave the shots and took blood from me did a better job of sticking the needle in me.Another time, I had to go into the hospital, because my kidneys had fail. The doctors had to take blood from me and then hook me up to dialysis machine, with more needles, in the arm. After two days on the machine things got better for me,thank God. I have gotten over the fear of getting  a shot or someone poking a needle, in my arm, in order  of taking blood from me is over.

THE COCKATOO INN-ANDY LOCOCO-COCKTOO 1958

I met Andy Lococo, when I was very young,at the Cockatoo Inn.My Dad was a self -employed C.P.A-Certified Public accountant .My dad and mother took me out to lunch ,to eat at Cockatoo Inn. So we walked in to bar area ,where they had great lunch specials, near the bar area there was man standing like a bouncer by staircase ,going up to some rooms.then my Dad called him over to our table where my Dad introduced me to Owner Andy Lococo and I shook his hand, that was that. After we got outside in the car ,my Dad told me more about him. My dad knew a mob figure. Of coarse, I  did not know ,what to think. Andy Lococo did not seem to me like a bad guy, just like in those mafia movies or figures, they are like that today. I did not think much about it till I heard and read in newspaper ,that he was going to put in jail for bribery charge and fixing a horse race. I did not know that John F.Kennedy and Robert Kennedy stayed at the Cockatoo Inn.

Many people stayed at the Cockatoo Inn. In the late 1960 and early 1970’s the hotel was popular among underworld figures. The hotel hosted U.S President,A- list movie stars and entertainers, the Mafia.

CUB SCOUTS- back in my day-My Experience

I had belong to the Cub Scouts.Back in the day Los Angeles School District, encouraged  young boys to get involved in these activities ,to stay out of trouble. In the schools they had chain length fences around  the schools, to keep the bad kids outs. The reform school kids out, even though I never saw one. That was Century Park Elementary  and Henry Clay junior high school. I think they looked at too many Bowery Boys movies or East Side kids very popular movies ,of the time. Those movies were about reform school kids getting into trouble. The Cub Scouts earn awards with requirements that build self-responsibilty,confidence,and willingness to help others.Cub Scouts go fishing, build rockets. There’s the pinnacle of most Cub Scouts years the Pinewood Derby. You get a piece of pine and make a race car out of it,then you add wheels to it,then you go to the derby and race them. I did not go to the derby,I had trouble making the car,I learned at a early age I was  not going be a craftsman. Then we had fundraisers. We were to sell fudge and fruitcake in cans. We had to get the same amount of fudge and fruitcake. I went door to door. I sold a lot of fudge but I could not sell any fruitcakes. I could not even give them away. I tried to sell them 2 for 1 sale.I could not sell them. So,later on in the evening,I came  back and threw the fruitcakes,on the porches,no charge,I could not even give them to a dog, they would not eat the  fruitcakes. I just got money out of my piggie bank to pay from them.Even though I had my problems in the Cub Scouts I enjoyed my experiences with them.
