When I was in 5th grade,at Century Park Elementary.  We had 8 teachers in a year. Also,I am Jewish we shut down not only the elementary  school we shut down the whole district during the Jewish holidays in the beginning  the school year for two weeks.in the fifth grade class we were the misfits and class clowns. We would sit in our chairs rocking them back and forth. The teacher would sit us in the corner with our chairs facing away from the blackboard as soon as the teacher would write something down,on the chalkboard we would be back at our location faced forward doing it all over again.During the 5th grade the Principal  wanted to put me back a grade,because my grades were not good enough to pass to the 6th grade, but my parents would not let me go back a grade,so they  told then Principal I will get tutored outside of the school grounds and that was that. The last teacher during December when the Christmas and Hanukah Season came around. We had a display of decorations inside the classroom. There were more Hanukah decorations than Christmas decorations. That’s because their were mostly Jewish students than Christian students in the classroom,in the district,She knew which students to make happy or she might loose her job. Back in the day,Parent teacher association met something. Today, they mean less,even  complaining to school board means less, and going to Principal,discussing your concerns about how the school is being run certain  outside activities,discussing how certain athletic Coach are working,and treating student athletes without giving them the respect  or discriminating against them.Everybody looks the other way,afraid to looks into to see if something is not right.The parent is always right. The taxpayer pay for everybodys salary  from the school board member,The Principal salary,teacher salary on down. We the people need to be heard not ignored.I am so passionate about this situation going through elementary school,high school ,it shapes your life who you are today,tommorow,for your life what ever endeavor in life,you try to accomplish.I know ,it shape my life to this day, It made me what I am today.
