/The Jewish youth groups: one for boys AZA the other is girls group,BBG
“It is the mission of AZA and BBG to create a United Jewish community that grows because they celebrate Judaism’s differences. The brotherhood and sisterhood provide a place for teens to build a movement capable of creating change surrounding today’s critical issues all while learning important skills such as public speaking, event planning, and project management.Chapters in a larger area are grouped into regions.Regions serve to bring chapters together so that they can exchange ideas, socialize,Enjoy social, athletic, community service and Judaic programming.”Back in my day, our chapter President would go to these convention and promote our local chapter, in order to get to go,to more socials, to meet girls, he would promise to get at least 20 guys to show up.We went to places,Westchester, Brentwood, Beverly Hills to socialize with girls. At these socials we would ask these girls for their phone numbers. We would have these socials Friday and Saturday nights. After awhile we have a lot of phone numbers of the girls ,but would not have any days to ask them out. So the President would open up night without no socials.Friday night would be free night or could be a Saturday night. We all learned about dating girls and how to treat a girl. The Rabbi (teacher)who would get mad at our chapter for having more social activities then anything else. We would not have any cultural activities, religious activities. We were the most popular boys group in Southern California. We were from Torrance.
